I have divided the individual essay guides (read the difference between Winning MBA Essay Guide and Individual Essay Guides) into ten sections:
1. School-specific sample essays and curriculum analysis (that you can use for your essays)
2. Narratives: Why and How
3. Outlining and Narrative Structure
4. Storytelling
5. How to Write
6. Leadership Narratives
7. Extra-Curricular
8. Video Essays
9. Essay Editing
10. Essay Review
It is unlikely that you will read the essay guide in one session. The 350 to 400+ page Essay Guide is developed as a reference book.
I have captured the essence of writing essays and storytelling from my 15+ years as a writer, editor, and admissions consultant.
Many customers found the Leadership Narratives to be extremely useful, while most found the Storytelling section to give them specific tips on creating narratives.
2 and 3 sections go into elaborate examples of why narratives are important and the building blocks of a Winning Essay.
I suggest that you read the book sequentially, but if time doesn’t permit, don’t skip 1,2,3,4, and 6 sections if you are seeking the help of a consultant to edit your essays or read 1,2,3,4,6,9 and 10 if you are editing your own essays.
My goal with the Essay guide is to help as many applicants gain admission to top MBA programs. MBA is a great tool that will help you transition or grow into a career where you will gain the power to be a force of good in the world.
I hope to see you all do great things in life!
Good Luck,
Atul Jose
